Novelis, the world leader in aluminum rolling and recycling, announced today the appointment of Miia Holopainen to vice president of human resources (HR). In her new role, she will oversee all HR management in Europe and will be based at the company’s European headquarters in Küsnacht, Switzerland.

Holopainen brings extensive HR experience over an 18-year career. Most recently, she was responsible for talent management within  General Insurance business segment globally as well as for the region Europe of Zurich Insurance Company.

Prior to that, Mrs. Holopainen held various internal and external HR leadership positions with multinational companies, such as SHL Group, Danzas Management Ltd. and Nokia Corporation. She holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Joensuu, Finland and a European Master’s degree in Exercise & Sport Psychology from both the University of Jyväskylä, Finland and the German Sport University Cologne, Germany.
